  Maths Virus 1914

  this is my latest video.

  it is part 1 of a series that reveals the mathematical trickery watchtower uses to con people about the 1914 doctrine.

  it takes a radically different approach to that of carl olof jonsson who dealt with dates.. this video focusses on how watchtower misuses the numbers in scriptures and creates a mental fog that prevents people from understanding and therefore prevents them from challenging.. the full title of the video is maths virus - revealing the antivirus to 1914. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llkmrul3afg.

  The three categories of reality

  before i start out let me tell everyone i'm an atheist and have been since i first started seeing the bible was not the word of god.

  if someone asked my religion today i would likely answer daoist which teaches balance and non-action of events or to put in modern language 'go with the flow man'.

  that being said i have over the last decade started catering certain beliefs and facts into three sections.. 1. the known.

  Meeting Workbook - I am your inheritance - April 5-11

  similar to the bethelites being dismissed topic for march/april 2020 is the article for april 5-11 related to the idea "if you just do what jw.org says....then someone is going to slide cash under your door and it will all be good related to your future finances" (link below).. i know current jws that believe this and have pimi family that believe this.

  they believe these even though they have endlessly challenging finances even struggling to pay bills.

  the reality is that anyone struggling financially as a jw is going to be in a state of poverty just trying to survive.

  Just be aware, the last entity actually doing the sliding is the one making the claim. They are big on promises of help and offering help but somehow it's never them that get their hands in their pocket.

  The deeper into the org you are, the more the magical support benefits you.

  Anybody Here That Still Wouldn’t Take or Give Blood?

  Please don't spread unsubstantiated claptrap.

  Which is more than can be said about the coronavirus vaccine. I simply will not take that, since it would ruin my DNA forever, cause serious and permanent pain and suffering, and the benefits would be almost none.

  life got complicated but i'm still an ex-jw i lost my husband 2 years ago from cancer.

  Hey GMA, welcome back. I hope life is getting better for you. Life is tough but being an ex Jw is a much better state to be in than a current one. At least you can look the future in the eye without stupid illusions.

  Why is the Watchtower "soft" on China?

  let's see, wt is "banned" in china.

  the wt preaches that reaching everyone on the planet is so important, yet they barely have a footprint in china.

  if saving lives was so important, why do they not aggressively proselytize in china?

  As I understand it, the "work" does go on in China but deep under cover. I have met people involved and they are absolutely tight lipped about what goes on. They don't say a word. I seem to remember a young woman that saw the light and went very publicly "apostate" (hate that word) maybe some one can fill in that space.

  European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) dismissed numerous JW tax cases against Armenia

  by three decisions handed down over the last year, the strasbourg court has declared 12 complaints, all named "christian religious organization of jehovah's witnesses against armenia", inadmissible.

  the cases concerned imposition of value-added tax (vat) on imported literature - on 67 shipments received between 2007 and 2015, to be exact.

  in short, the organization claimed that, first, the shipments should be tax-free pursuant to article 12 of the freedom of conscience act ("monetary and other gifts received by religious organisations, as well as income received from citizens shall not be subject to taxation"); secondly, the customs authorities arbitrarily determined the customs value of the imports based on, for example, the prices the bible society of armenia (affiliated with the dominant armenian apostolic church) sold imported religious literature.. up until march 2007, there were constant problems receiving regular shipments of religious literature, which should be tax-free but which customs arbitrarily reassessed at unpredictable higher values and then imposed a value-added tax of 20 percent.

  If it hurts $$$ jump on it. In fact WT contributes nothing to any public funds anywhere in the world unless they are dragged kicking and screaming. I have no sympathy other than the costs being passed on to innocent R&F members.

  a doozy in today's study article brought me to post here for the first time in a while.

  once again, watchtower leadership is doing its level best to make their adherents as fearful of inconvenient facts as they, themselves, are.. "like timothy, we must also discern the danger of false information spread by apostates.

  1991 Watchtower study article just prior to WTS joining UN

  please see the study article, “their refuge–a lie!” in the june 1, 1991 watchtower, noting paragraphs 1, 10 and 11. paragraph 1 calls christendom “that apostate religious organization.” why apostate?.

  paragraph 10 asserts that “she insinuates herself into the favor of the political leaders of the nations–this despite the bible’s warning that friendship with the world is enmity with god.” to support that assertion, paragraph 11 quotes an unnamed “recent book” which reports that “no fewer than 24 catholic organizations are represented at the un.” how were such organizations represented at the un?.

  the unnamed book quoted in paragraph 11 is new genesis by robert muller.

  The specifics in the quoted book are an absolute jaw-dropper. The condemnation of catholic NGOs because of affiliation with the UN at the very time that WT was joining? A slam-dunk, no excuse, no rationalisation possible.

  Just as a point of accuracy, I can find no evidence supporting the claim that the application is or was required annually. If anyone could supply that it would be interesting.

  The current requirements for affiliation are as follows, the requirements as in 1991would be great to see.

  The following is the current requirement from the UN DPI website.

  APPLICATION MATERIALS

  All responses must be typed. Handwritten responses will not be accepted.

  Deadlines: March 31 for June consideration October 31 for December consideration

  • A completed Application Form for Non-Governmental Organizations
  • A copy of the organization’s constitution/charter or by-laws
  • Official proof of non-profit status, issued by public authorities, and tax exemption status (Note: The document should be on official letterhead and dated.)
  • A copy of the organization’s most recent audited financial statement, conducted by a qualified and independent accountant. (Must be in U.S. dollars) NOTE: Substitute documents will not be accepted.
  • Evidence of an active information program relevant to the United Nations: at least six (6) different types of samples of the organization’s most recent information materials (e.g. newsletter, periodicals, tapes of radio or television programs, conference reports) (Note: Electronic materials, such as Web sites or periodicals, should be sent in hard copy form.)
  • A notarized Certification of Signatures of the NGO President or Chief Administrative Officer and the main Representative.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation of organizations (UN or others)
